Review : Great head unit for those only wanting Bluetooth features
I purchased this unit for the Bluetooth calling and music streaming via Iphone 4s. The 2Din size looks nicer than the single in my dash opening and the display is larger as well. The buttons are laid out extremely well and easy to navigate through the menu. Installation was easy with the hardest task being the routing of the microphone. The call clarity when hands free is perfect on both sides and it’s easy to place a call either via the Iphone or the head unit itself. Streaming music via Bluetooth is also clear and you can control via the Iphone or the head unit. The Alpine website states that you will need a special cable to directly connect the Iphone but the standard cable connects for audio and charging functions just fine via the front USB port. Pairing and all other setup functions are easily configured without the manual. The sound of the stereo system has greatly improved over that of the stock head unit and you can configure the EQ settings to dial in your preference…
